Question How much slack should I have in the front prop shaft?

Whilst crawling under the Disco I noticed that the front prop shaft could be rotated about 15 degrees, but the rear could not. I thought this might be something to do with the last time it was driven so I checked again after another short drive, and found the same thing.

The prop shaft and UV joints move together so it is not a problem with the UV joints.

What is coursing the slack and should I be worried?

The handbrake will stop the rear shaft from moving, but the front shaft does move due to all of the lash in the diff, transfer and gearbox. I'm not sure about 15 degrees though, I don't think that mine moves that much.

As long as I know that is is normal to have movement and that it is not going to fall apart while I drive, I'm happy.
    Thanks for the quick reply
