Will the 2.8 crank fit the Tdi block ?

Bore of the 2.8 is 93mm.
Maximum OS bore of the 2.5 is 91mm (stock is 90.47mm) Most find it's as cheap to bore/sleeve and use standard pistons on the Tdi, and gives better results.

Has anyone ultrasonically (or just cut up) a 2.5 block to see how much meat is in the cylinder walls ?
