Correct me if I am wrong but........
Simex 35x10.5 887m OD - 34.92
Silverstone 35x10.5 883mm OD - 34.76
A difference of 2mm diff clearance![]()

But get another size Simex and they generally run oversize, i.e. my 32x9.5 ran at 33.4 OD and a set of 35x12.5 are massiveBut for the 35x10.5 I don't think it can be said they run undersize to buggery when compared to the direct equivalent Simex.

sorry, the right picture below ,thanks for pointing that out , they do as look very similar

Just had a look here Extreme . They have gone up in price a bitI'm very wrong with the $100 cheaper as mentioned earlier

Be interesting what you find
Tony
Where do you figures come from?
Lined up 35" Silverstone is an inch narrower and an inch shorter, sitting side by side a simex...........not that I'd wan;t my real life comparisons to be treated as gospel
But hey, Justify your purchase however you see fit, I don;t mind.....I have Simex

I never let the truth get in the way of a good story
Silverstone - High Performance Tyres
Simex Tyres @ Fourbys
What size was the Simex you had lined up? 35x10.5? I drive regularly with someone running the 35x10.5 Simex and we had a good look at both to compare and did not note a noticable variance in size but i have not lined them up. Will do on the next trip out of interest.
At $175 per tyre new i love themand would not have paid the extra for a set of Simex at RRP. If the same deal came up for Simex i would buy them......simple really.
Oh yeah.....i also run a chinese winch![]()
You sound a good man, Stikman
The tyres I had at the time were 35"x11.5"x15 in both Simex and Silverstone, also had a 10.5" simex as a spare
Oh yea, I run a widened drum, 6hp motor, drum free spooled Warn 8274
Don;t get me wrong, for the budget man, all good, but they are NOT the same, they have their shortcomings, its not a reason to not buy, just soemthing to keep in mind
And I guess, it must be hard for someone such as myself, who's ran both, to form an unbiased opinion![]()
Agree and Agreeat the end of the day it is all just feedback which people will take or leave, agree with or dispute
We found that the 11.5x15 was very similer in size to the 10.5x16 in both OD and width, where from memory the 35x11.5 Simex runs oversize in OD and would be wider then the 10.5 also. I think that is the main difference in both our real life comparisons![]()
I have also heard of side wall damage issues in the very early Silverstone Extremes but i have not experienced this, and neither have the other two running them. I am yet to come across any shortcomings in the Silverstone that i did not come across in my Simex's but they were a totally different size also.
Could the on road issues you experienced have been amplified by the 15inch side wall? I just ask as i find my side walls fairly stiff on a 16inch which i think would help with on road behaviour. Just a thought.
I will own a highmount one day, but unfortunatley it will probably end up on the front of my wifes 2dr projectIf only you were closer to me.....you often have parts i would grab
