    Question RRC 93 auto prob

    i just brought a 93 auto rangie that had auto probs and replaced auto with a second hand one and now it only shifts into 1st and 2nd i have disconnected the kick down cable and made no difference is there any electronics involved and help apprected

    Is,nt this car a bit flash for you mate , I thought you only had plain jane basic type cars in your garage

    Ther ZF is entirely mechanical in operation.
    I suggest that the selector cables may be maladjusted so that in D the position at the gearbox is "2" but most probably "3".

    You may think you feel only one change but on light throttle it will immediately change 1-2 and then 3 later.
    If not that then you have ze problem.

    mine went that way, first ten mins was fine, as it warmed up back to 3rd then 2nd, then would not change up at all, was reving its little heart out at 80 Kph, tranny place said govenor seals shot, and box needs to come out to do it.
