What motor is it?

Hi Voltaren, Google suggests Triumph Rover spares in Adelaide. Maybe this is who you traded with. Since you will have to get parts by mail, I assume, you can shop for the best prices across the whole country as postage will be similar no matter where they are coming from [ up to a point].Cheers, 130man.

Indeed you are right. The fact is I have a few parts to get organised other than the pulleys, rear disk hubs comes to mind plus the housing for the headlight squirter or whatever they call the thing.

It would be good to find a dealer or business that can supply for a reasonable price, some of the prices I have come across have scared the crap out of me. ah well, thats how it is I suppose. ;)

where in adelaide, north, south or central?

I've dealt a bit with British 4WD in Hobart. They don't have the biggest range but pricing and service is good. From memory I got both belts from them for about $40 total.
They advertise on this site, or you can find them at british4wd.com.

There is a section here somewhere about recommended online suppliers.

There are lots of threads about squealing 300tdi belts which would be worth a read if you're having those sort of problems.
The bearings in the 300tdi idlers are quite easy to replace (around $10 each) and much cheaper than replacing the whole pulley.
Its also possible to replace the fan bearing (haven't done it myself yet) rather than having to replace the whole timing belt cover.

Two days before having to make a 1200k trip the idler started making a slight noise, The very morning I had to leave the bloody thing starts squealing, a can of spray oil helped now and again and maybe just maybe stopped the the thing giving up the ghost. Nothing like living on the edge.

Anyways a bit of help and research here has got me clued up on changing the bearings, all should be good.
