    Exclamation STEERING STOPS

    Hi all,

I have 235/85r16's and at full lock the tyre which is turned inwards seems to be rubbing on the radius arm.
Is this due to the steering stops not being adjusted properly.
If so can you please tell me how to adjust them.

    Thanks
    Jordan

There's a bolt and lock nut at the inside front of each wheel. Shouldn't be done up very tight, loosen the lock nut then wind out the steering stop a little and do up the lock nut, repeat the same amount of movement on the other side. You'll need two spanners (17 or 19mm from memory). I mark a point on both nut, bolt and the housing with a paint pen before starting so I know how far around I've moved the bolt.

Just do a quarter turn at first and see if that helps.

    Jordan,
I have the same tyre size now and have only miniscule rubbing in extreme conditions.

It sometimes doesn't need much adjustment.

When I fitted four new 236/85/16 to replace the same size tyres, they rubbed.

It just needed a small adjustment of those stops.

Not sure if mine has been adjusted. Do you know if yours has. Or is that factory set?

    Thanks for that anyway

It's just a lock nut on a bolt ... No big deal .... If you adjust it, the worst that can happen is just less turning circle

    It'l still drive normal

Or you can get -25mm offset rims and then you get to adjust the stops in for a better turning circle
