Fired up 300 Tdi after it had been sitting a coupleof months, last time I drove it the elbow coming off turbo going to intercooler blew. Cleaned out intercooler and installed new hoses. When I started today all ok for a while except bearing type noise above 1800 rpm. All of a sudden started pouring and I mean pouring grey smoke still runs but masses of smoke. Found plenty of oil inside top hose from intercooler to inlet manifold. Any clues, Turbo maybe????
could be oil burning off.
take the breather off of the top of the rocker cover, see if that makes a difference if it does youve got blowby causing oil misting which is getting drawn through the combustion chamber.
if that makes no difference take the turbo-intercooler hose off and check that thats not contaminated, if it is you might have a dying turbo seal.
