    3.5 using water

    Hi Guys
Young Jimmy at work says his 3.5 Rangie is using water. No visible exterior leaks, looks like it may be getting into the sump.He is going to try the "burn the oil on the dipstick" trick today to see if it is.
Are there any common leaks to check before it becomes a heads off exercise.
    Thanks
    Andrew

    hey andy
get him to double check the two heater hoses from the engine to the heater matrix near the firewall. If they have a small leak its possible the heat of the engine can dry up the cooland as pools on the top of the block or drips down the back.

    Problem solved.
One of the small hoses that goes from the radiator to the inlet manifold was leaking. As Hangover mentioned, the water was evaporating with engine heat.
