    Angry D2 back door stuck

I cannot open my D2 back door. It was a bit stiff before a long trip but when I go thome it is weel and truly stuck. I unlocked it, sprayed WD40 all over, removed the spare wheel and trim and lashed the release lever down and went for a drive on a dirt road but it is still stuck fast. Should I chain the spare wheel carrier to a tree and belt off at top speed? The door hinges look very hard to drill out. Much as I love my Rovers, this is really trying my patience.

Just keep at it...Blow air into it, give the LR logo on the door a whack and just work it. No universal cure for fixing it though.

I would suggest using graphite powder next time. WD40 can gum up and attract dust, whereas the graphite powder stays dry.

Mine did this too. Had to pull cage out, and camping crate/fridge/ect through left door.
Just keep working the lock untill unlock snib button is right up. Pulled my lock out and washed in CRC, waited till dry and graphited it. Fitted hex head bolts on refit. 2 years no problems.
    cheers

Mine jammed the rubber mat at the bottom of the door and I had to push hard against the outside of the back door while my son opened the handle from the inside through the belt hole in the cargo barrier!

Mine did the same in Coober Pedy .

The advice I was given.... take off your boot.... and belt bajezuz out of the back door handle (the black plasic one..)

I hit mine maybe 20 times really hard with the heal of the trusty Blundstone..

It worked a treat ... I had managed to shake enough dust out of the lock to get it open.

Then a really thorough flush out of the lock and were were back in business..

Don't miss the handle though... I suspect a Blundstone would make a nasty dint in the door panel.

    Good luck with it..
