ON test. BFG mud terrain KM2. wow. quietest mud terrain?

I bought a new set of tyres today, i was really after some bfg KM1s but no one in sydney had any. So i went for the KM2s. Price, good - 329 per corner (35x12.5x15), which is 10% more than what i paid 4 years ago for the set of KM1s they were replacing. I noticed they put less lead weights on than i had on the last set, but this may just be a coincedence.

Driving home, gee they are quiet. Now the KM1s werent the loudest tyre (mickey thompson, khumo and cooper IMHO all get that title), but these are like a passenger car tyre quiet. They get a very slight drone up at 110, but it is not really noticable above the radio when on.

I hooked it hard into a few corners dirt and tar where i would have given a little slip with the km1s, and they just bite hard.

So far so good. I hope they last 90,000 odd kms like the KM1s they replaced. I will take pics tomorrow.

Good to hear. I am thinking of going for the KM2's after my current muddies wear out. I have been really happy with my KM1's.

I am thinking of getting 35 inch Krawlers when I build up my rangie. I wonder how they compare...

Good to hear you are happy with them so far. A few contractors around here have them and have had a good run. The only comment they have made is small stones on gravel roads tend to flick up a bit.

I have 285/75 for my 120" not on yet, still waiting on my rims

You got a very good deal. They're asking 425 per tyre up this way now

i rang every jax and tyrepower in sydney, the next best was 350, but most wanted 375-385.

Freight for the tyreshops is stuff all. For you and me, it would cost close to $60 a tyre to get from sydney to central nsw. Sometimes the tyreshops do freight the tyres to you at their cost price if you ask nice enough.

    Anyway heres a pic

Thanks for this andrew , I called Jax at Thornleigh and spoke to the manager asking or a price ,he said he would ring his supplier and get the best price and call me back , but never did . I'm going to give the boys in Liverpool a call on Monday

Tony , Next time I come up for a visit I'll try and bring a Box Trailer filled with tyres , just to save you some dough on Freight .you just have to purchase and pay for the tyres and get it delivered here.
