Thread: 1981 stage 1 land rover ute help

Hi guys i have just found a 1981 stage 1 land rover ute 3.5 litre V8,i have looked over it with a fine toothed comb and cannot find any rust anywhere exept for where the windows in the door channels which are rusty,can you buy a replacement and have a panel beater weld new tops on? can you tell me what this model landy is like is it a robust model,i think down the track a bit i will fit a diesel maybe one of those great Isuzus,the guy wants $1500 for it is that about what they are worth.....cheers Wes.

The door tops will unbolt from the door bottoms and new ones, along with new channel are available to buy.

Stage 1's are pretty good really.

Have a really good look for rust in the firewall and the chassis. Front spring hangars, rear spring hangars, rear crossmember etc.
