Strip, clean, rustproof and paint a chassis
Hi All,
Ive been busy pulling my county appart for a motor and gearbox swap and i have decided to strip it back to a bare chassis and give it a good clean up. Can any one tell me a good method for cleaning them down, including inside the chassis rails?
Basically my plan is hit it with heaps of degresser and high pressure hose, try and blast out the insides as well, wirewheel the bad bits, use cold gal paint on the bits prone to rust, rust proof(lanolin or something not sure yet) the insides, then paint it all with Wattyl Killrust. How does this sound?
Thanks,
Mick.

Was very impressed at the galvanising of BAS's chassis.

Havn't used it yet but have done some re-search and i have found that "tectyl 506" is the go for rust proofing inside doors and chassis
It is getting abit hard to get but i eventually found some yesterday...it never really dries, stay's tacky.
