    Rivets - Size and Material

    Just a quick one.

What size and material (SS or Al) are the body rivets on a Defender?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

if they were stainless they'd eat the body work

and I think they are 4mmx10mm off the top of my head.

I ended up using Aluminium 6.6 but they were a little longer than needed. So 6.4 is more the right size.

I've used stainless rivets which attach steel brackets to alloy body work. Just coated every rivet hole with wax oil and dipped every rivet in wax oil before fitting. No sign of electrolysis yet, unlike my door frames.
