Parts and info request Ex-Mil 10kva VW generator

    Hi all,

I firstly would like to thank this forum for the wealth of information.it has helped me out many times.

I have recently got a "Generator set, gasoline engine 10KVA,120/240v, single phase,50Hz" with the VW motor.

It has a blown multi-tap transformer inside the control box marked EC170 made by Rola and appears to be powering the regulator circuit. The resistance on the working windings are around 1k between v1 and v2 and 270ohm between (v1) and (v2). v3 and v4 are blown

I have de potted the transformer in a last ditch attempt to find the fault but no go (blurry image attached).

If anyone has information on this transformer or better yet has a spare they are willing to sell please let me know.

On a side note the hand operated fuel priming pump diaphragm can be got from Fuel pump kit S.40567

The carbon brushes may be the same as "ca-07-232 for Felisatti" please wait for me to confirm once parts arrive.

I have put in a request to NAA for technical info on this generator and will post what I get if successful

I do not recommend this but my method of drill starting:

Use a ratchet for a breaker bar as a poor mans overrun clutch, ensure it ratchets in the correct direction every time as it will pop into lock or undo by itself after a few starting attempts.

Remove the fan belt cover and make sure bet is very tight. Then spin her off the top fan belt bolt. it will slip but you can get away with a lower powered drill than straight off crank and i think a little less likely to rip your arms off

    Cheers

    Ben
