    RRC Fuel tank

I found a few leaks along the rear seam of the fuel tank on my 76 RRC. So the question is where to from here? What options are available for a replacement tank of larger capacity? I didn't find very much on the web.

Its probably its second or 3rd tank. I can't believe its lasted 33 years.
Later tanks of any "classic" carby model will retrofit, they went to plastic at some stage.
If you remove it, you will find there is corrosion is between the tank protection plate & tank too. Thats usually where they start to leak.

I have a Long Ranger 140 litre, which is my second.
    Great product with NO problems.
Check with Graeme cooper or directly with Out of Town 4WD.

Hey Dom, I have a reconditioned tank here from Dads old 77 rangie - its in excellent condition. Most larger tanks will hang down below the chassis rails and can be more exposed to damage than the standard ones. Also with the later model rangies they changed the bolt pattern, so its probably not just a case of getting one and bolting it in.

    Fix or replace

Steel tanks can be relatively easily fixed with solder or special epoxy but, if the leak is due to rust, then it will probably soon rust through in another place. Great excuse to buy a bigger tank.
