any guesses on torque increase from the 4.9 kit?

Shure do.... He used to work for all 4 X Four and Talked me out of buying one. He reckoned it was scary in his 2 door but he had reliability problems with it Over heating and the bottom end etc.

If I ever did something this stupid with Rover I'd use a X bolted bolted and webed block as a starting point. Then try to find some early alloy Buick 300heads for it rather than stuffing around porting and fitting larger valves in rover heads.

This is one reason why I have a Supercharger for my Rangie

On torque I have no idea but be close high 400 nm or better at a guess.
The stinky wee little weasy stock Rover heads are a problem once you stoke out to 5 ltr.

    Terrier Crank

Not to fruitlessly revive a dead thread, however, I've just come into ownership of an old Leyland F5000 block and I'm ideally looking to pursue a crank for it.

@Waxenwane do you happen to still have these Terrier Cranks? I'm comparatively local to you and was wondering if you'd be prepared to part with one...

That is if you're still online.

Once I've figured out whether I can upload pictures, I'll show some shots of the block.

    Regards,

    Fraser
