Has anyone heard of Polyair springs and how they work as an aid to towing and to raise suspension to get out of trouble on a Disco.

Hi Gaz, air bags are pretty popular especially with people who tow reguarly. I have some coil-rite bags in my rig and its amazing how much they can improve handling. Great thing is you can just inflate or deflate at a servo to suit.
We have them in the Disco as the guy who owned it before us towed a van...
we don't tow anything but they are real handy when fully loaded up...no bum sag

I have "Air Lift" ones. Very good stability with all camping gear loaded and roof tent.
...But I hate them when unloaded in the city. The best from my Disco was the suspension and with 5 psi I still feel them too hart in the rear, specially in every speedbraker.
Altough I suggest not deflate them to less pressure, because they can be damaged by suspension coils. With ice formed in the air valvle one of mine was running a couple of hundred kilometers with no pressure and has survived...
there is another thread about suspension bags, not far from this

Thanks for the advice, I googled airbags and found there are more options than polyair at $350 A set.
I found Firestone coil-right airbags in the US for $105 plus post total $151 delivered. I expect that the exchange rate will bump it up a bit, but at worst it will be up to 17%, still better than the Polyair price.

Just arrived: 2012 D4 3.0 HSE, the journey begins again ;-).
Gone: 98 Disco 300tdi Auto, and some extras
My airbags have arrived at $181 thats just over half what the polyair bags would have cost.
It makes you wonder about the markup some businesses must be running with
