Thread: removing d2 v8 cats..can I?

one of the catalytic converters has blown out and I was wondering, (apart from legalities), if I can do without them all together. Will the oxygen sensors freak out? will I get better/worse economy? noisier? be much cheaper to just cut them off and replace the missing section with new pipe.

I'm sure it will run much better,,
