well i can turn in about an 8th of a turn in either direction with a large screwdriver between the bolts (requires alot of force) then in turns the rear wheels so is that locked??
yes its a borg warner diff (it has it cast into the side of it and is clearly readable) unless there are more than one type that they used in that year.
as to breaking diffs well the rear has been repaired more times than i care to count (b4 i bought the car) as there are 4 holes welded up in the casing, and the front axle was broken because i got carried away with the throttle and didnt let up when i was going up some rather lumpy sections of track and it must have droped back down to solid ground while spinning at a good rate.
