Well i have trialed out 4 totally different ignition maps and so far i have learnt that I can advance the ignition at full load/full rpm with better performance.

I have also learnt that too much ignition at idle and along the entire rev range, tends to run lean? Does that sound right?

So far just trialing out a fourth ignition map and will keep slowly fine tuning it as I go.

Basically have a max of 14degrees at cruise and no load momentum carried speeds.

The third map was by far the most responsive but I had alot of advance and the exhaust had a string smell (dry) which indicates it was running too lean.

I cant wait to get the AF guage as I was really happy witht he third map once i was goin, it had a rough idle due to too much advance I think.

Thansk to all who supplied further info on the standard vac advance.

Much appreciated
