Got the 2nd Battery in!
Hi Finally got the Second battery in the worst bit was deciding where to put the controller, I settled on the inside of the battery comprtment so the exposed terminals were covered and the unit would stay fairly clean and not get too hot. I also had room for the circut breaker on the other side of the battery.
I have run an 8mm cable to the rear under the trim below the drivers door & used a 10mm cable for the earth onto the LHR seat belt bolt. The battery is connected via a 50 amp anderson plug and the yellow strap will go when I build the rear storage draws and a home for the Waco.
Checked the voltage and getting 14.2 volts to the rear think thats about right as the rear battery has been sitting on the bench for a few weeks and not fully charged.
Think this set up will work well for me as I will be able to remove the battery for jump starting if I have to, or take it to the tent, caravan etc. to run the fridge and lights. Or if the need arises remove it all togeather.
(The unit has provision for a switch which allows both batterys to be used to start the vehicle, but you would need to use 12 mm cable. This was about $20.00 a meter and much harder to hide. )
Will plug the waco in and check all is working as far as the battery goes and the Waco's low voltage shut down and see how long the fridge runs at a temp low enough to keep a few beers cold. Trail run in the driveway so I dont get stuck in the middle of no-where.
Next job, fit the home made work light to the sparewheel carrier (Paint roller extension, adjusts up down and rotates with a 100 w work lamp, cost $20.00 Used it on my ute for the past 2 yearsfor work and play.) Will put up a few pics, if anyone is intrested.

I have the battery in a box as well at the back of my Defe and I agree with you, it is very practical because it is portable.
Heaps cheaper than the Waeco power pack as well

Hi I agree I looked at the Waco power pack. $355.00 they recon it would run the fridge for 12 hours, the systm I have has in the past (winter time) run the fridge for 4 days without giving up, Time will tell but I think it will work out fine.
