Any chassis connection will be fine as long as the area was cleaned of paint, rust, oil etc.
Perhaps paint over the top of the connection when done to prevent rust.

Looks like a few Disco owners have opted to but their aux battery in the rear... I'm looking to do the same but have a question....
Is there a good earthing point back there or would any solid chasis connection do??
Cheers.....

More reliable is to run a dedicated earth from the engine bay either from main battery or controller depending on your set up. you are going to be running the positive cable anyway.

I run to the chassis, but I understand the d2 chassis is only incidentally earthed - so it's not a very good way to do it. The best option is the run the earth back to the main battery, otherwise I understand the body is where the earths all return from - not the chassis. If you do want to use the chassis, then make sure you also earth the chassis back to the battery at the front also.

Hi I used the lower LH seat belt bolt for my earth and everything seems to be working , Getting the right rate of charge to the aux battery and managed to hide most of the wires under the seat and carpet.
Just have to be a little careful when folding the seat so as not to catch the wire,
Andrew
If the seatbelt thing doesn't work just drill a very small hole in the floor and use a self tapper to secure it. I had to do this as I found the seatbelt mounts in mine to be an unreliable earth.
I'm not sure about DII's but in the rear corners of the DI floor there are earthing studs screwed into the floor. If you ever lift the carpet take a look and take note.
