    Stuck spark plug.

Hey guys, have 3 spark plugs stuck in my Holden 202 motor. They were out last week while I did a comp test and where put back in and were not over tightened. They wont come out now (new plugs to put in). I've sprayed WD-40 and waiting for that to do it's thing, but these plugs are REALLY stuck.
Do I need to do it on a cold engine? Or should the engine be hot? What could I be missing here?

current wisdom around here suggests that alloy heads should be cold for spark plug removal

Is this one of the later engines with the taper seat plugs? if so, you may have over-tightened. These are tightened to 1/16 of a turn after the tapers seat together. Fair bugger to get out if you have.

I ended up getting it out. God it was a battle. Took about 4 hours to change 6 spark plugs. Pretty rediculous.
All done now. She seams to idle better now and the throttle response feels improved. I hope it's not a palcebo effect The old plugs and leads where pretty shagged.

Get a bottle of powdered graphite and puff a little bit onto the threads and the conical seat then just rub it in with your fingers. Always works for me.

    Cheers

    Andrew.
