Yeah - that's a bit like a shepherd and a mob of sheep.

One smart shepherd and a 100 silly sheep following each other.

    Anyone heard of lemmings?

Can I say that if you break down out "there" then likely, regardless of what you drive you will need parts. Given all the variations of models and model variants, even if you owned a Toyota, and broke down outside a Toyota dealership, the most likely outcome is that they will also have to order parts from the nearest big smoke.

So, if you own a LR, it just means you can find any mechanic to diagnose the fault (if it is not already known), and then call a LR specialist like MR automotive. These guys specialise in getting the hand of GOD to deliver parts to remote areas in astonishingly good time.

So there really is no difference.

What is more LR products tend to be toughened for remote work, whereas toyotas don't appear to be. A friend had one with him on a trip that popped a fanbelt in some water. They had a spare, but this brand new hi-lux declared a "fault" and would not re-start until they could get it to a toyota dealership. I've never heard of this kind of thing with LR product.

All new toyota's are like that, you can fix anything on them but you still need a dealer to re-boot the computer and you can get any LR part off the shelf, tojo have very few parts outside Melbourne and Sydney. Pat

Yep, the owner's son is a member here (I believe) & the car is quite "famous" but that's as far as I'll go.

It just has a leaky brake vacuum pump & gave the engine bay a rustproofing treatment.
