Gday
I went to check my gearbox oil today and found it needs a wierd shaped tool to get onto it
Can anyone tell me what it is so I can get myself one? Or post a pic, I couldn't get a good look from under the Landy
Thanks

I picked up a 3/3" drive 55torx from Total tools a couple of days ago, about $12.
Also if you haven't got one invest in a Tomthumb 1 litre hand pump, they're cheap and make life easy refilling gear box and transfer case oils.
As Dave said T55 drive. Kinchrome and others do a set of 1/4-3/8 drive sets and also you can get the as individual keys. Gearbox is easiest with the 3/8" drive on a ratchet.

Not sure if it applies Oz wide, but Repco in Perth is currently clearing their tools to get in a new brand.
I picked up a Torx bit with socket attachment for $2 with a lifetime warranty.![]()
Throw away the standard filler plug as no one carries the correct Torx tool to fit it in the bush.
The thread in the gearbox is a standard BSP thread.
Go to the local plumbing or hardward shop and buy a pipe blanking plug fitting.
I use a brass item and it is a easy shifting spanner job to remove the plug now.
I think the thread was something like 1/2 BSP and the brass plug I used was BSP tapered thread.
Get some extras and fit in the thermostat housing and radiator to replace those silly plastic things which split and break.
Cost of brass fitting is about $4 each
