Thread: hi all new to land rover

just brought 99 disco es series 2 and single rear passenger seat does not lock in wondering if anyone had similar problem hope this is not the start of a bad thing thanks for any solutions in advance

Sorry I'm not familiar with disco II's.

If the latch is like those in disco I's, check if the 'U' shaped latch is in the open position when the seat is folded forward. The pin at the top of the seat needs to move into the 'U' when the seat is pushed back - this action causes the 'U' shaped latch to lock when the pin is pushed to the bottom of the 'U' slot.

If the 'U' shaped latch is in the locked/closed position, try releasing it using the button and a bit of persuasion with a screwdriver or similar (normally the persuasion is provided by pulling the seat forward).
