What size tyres do you run??

After a general idea on what is a good sized tyre to run on the Disco.
So what size do you run?
Does it affect your gearing much??
    What brand??

Figure it might pay to do some homework before I throw cash away on rubber that is to large.

    Disco 1 or 2?

    V8 or diesel?

What do you want to do with it? Any suspension lift?

I currently run Cooper ATR (Don't buy Cooper...) 245/75-16 on a D1 Tdi. Lots of highway driving, but also a fair amount of sand and some dirt/rocky tracks. Affects gearing very little, and makes speedo dead on accurate to boot.

    I run 285/75-16 and 34/11.5-16.

Actually 49's with a 100"w.b. would also be pretty cool, but only on mogs with a 7" spring lift also.
    Cheers

for the other 48 who have read this it doesn't have to be a disco for tyre size guys ( & gals)..............

Seems about a 31" will be big enough. Now I just gotta figure out what type & brand to run, been so long since I had to choose I am WAY out of the new gear loop.

i run 285/75/16 the only problem running bigger tyres is that your gearing goes out the window your low range you end up entering obsticles at a lot faster speed due to the tyre diameter the only way to solve this is by changing your diff ratios i am now running Great basin rovers 4.14:1 diffs and maxi drive 49% transfer case rock crawling gears which totally and over and above allows me to run bigger tyres before i had the diff and transfer case reduction i was not having fun pulling the camper trailer and my off road abilty was reduced however with this change in gearing it has paid of drastically

it all depends on what type of wheeling you want to do
by going 265/75/16 why would not have to do to much changing but its always a good idea to do the diff ratio change then if you want the more extreme side to it you can do the transfer case later on
    cheers kelvin

255/85/16, 40mm spring lift flares for the guards and 4.11 cw/p. It's a really good combination i feel.

hhmmm, i feel i little inadequate after seeing bush65's post, but

33 x12.50 MTZ beach and road
    35 x12.50 maxxis creepys play
soon to get 37 maxxis sticky trep's extra fun playing

all on stock 3.54's but 5:1 xfer gears

on road gearing still totally driveable with all tyres, on a 90
