    air con remove hose under dash

    hi all , i am trying to remove the fat hose from the air con unit under the dash , how do you do it
    its a 1985 range rover with a face lift
    i cant get the disk from dave to work with vista home basic
    i have removed the front face-yer's ? but i cant get to the where the fat hose connects to the unit

    In the absence of others - I presume that it's a CA VIN series - ie the first with the horizontal grille. If it has aftermarket air, either fitted new or later, somewhere under the insulation you'll find some sort of compression fitting that you undo. ( flare nut type) For factory, it says that the connectors are at the back of the assembly where you can't see it. The manual shows that the top of the dash (the bit that sits where the instrument pod would be if it was LHD) has to come off to remove the evaporator matrix. Of course it could be anywhere, but thats the gist of it.

    Be wary of pressure if the ac used to work beforehand.

    hi thanks, its vin sallhamvba looks like there is a plate that can be removed under the bonnet in the area where the matrix could be , i think it is void of gas as it only pumps out hot air
