David Hardcastle in Tuning Rover V8 Engines is of the view that the coolant temp of a Rover V8 should NEVER exceed 80 Degrees.
The reasons stated are to do with block expansion etc. personally I cant see how this is possible in Australia also a bit strange when the manufacturer put thermostats in that were well above this temp.
Not saying that this is right, I have tried to do it and keep it reasonably close on a Gas /Carb engine in a hot climate running a 74 Degree thermostat.
You cant do that with a fuel injected model though from what I understand
