What temp to cut in thermos?

David Hardcastle in Tuning Rover V8 Engines is of the view that the coolant temp of a Rover V8 should NEVER exceed 80 Degrees.
The reasons stated are to do with block expansion etc. personally I cant see how this is possible in Australia also a bit strange when the manufacturer put thermostats in that were well above this temp.
Not saying that this is right, I have tried to do it and keep it reasonably close on a Gas /Carb engine in a hot climate running a 74 Degree thermostat.
You cant do that with a fuel injected model though from what I understand

IMHO just get 2x Calibre 10 inch or 12 inch from Supercheap or whatever fits, as the feature of the Falcon fans is the correct shroud for pull through which you cannot use on the front.

Not all fans are designed to be able to reverse the blades which you should do . Calibre are set up for push. If you do lots of off road , do not mount them via the through fin pins, but either put bars across or make up solid mounts.

If it needs help being an N/A especially, there is something wrong in the cooling system, just find and fix it:D

Thermo's should be cut and out above thermostat, usually moreso depends on what switch is available to suit the position really, all automotive joints should have a pretty book, with coolant switch with all kinds of temps and threads

Go to the "tridon web site( distributors for dozens of fan switches temp senders etc) to see thermo fan switches, all types of switches. Type in make and model in Triton search bar or search site for "fan switch"

You can get an alloy tube with one or two threaded holes for senders that you fit as part of the top radiator hose. (i.e. cut a section out of the hose and fit the tube with hose clamps)
