Older swivel hub questions
My 2 door 1981 RR is in need of renewed swivel seals. The level plugs are a bugger to remove due to the steering end stop bolts.
Has onyone removed the level plugs and hacksawed a cross in the head. This should enable a philips head screwdriver to be used to easily remove the plugs for inspection.
Also is there any reason why the level plugs cannot be used to top up the swivels?
Next question. While the hub seals are being replaced should the other seals and bearings also be done? The part are quite cheap. I have had the vehicle for about 20k km but do not know its history.

I used to have an 81.
I cannot understand the problem with the level plugs as all you need is a very small open end spanner 7/32?
Why not fill with the filler plugs. They are 1/2 , and much easier to get fluid into. You have to turn the steering onto full lock towards the opposite side that you are working on to clear the swivel ball.
You will be there all day trying to get EP90 into a tiny 1/4 inch hole.
I have never seen this asked before so it is not a common inquiry.
