    land rover santana parts? usefull?

just wondering if it is possible to use land rover santana parts in a land rover gearbox?

there is quite a few new gearbox components listed on the net that are from an 88" santana. would these be the same as the series 2a gearbox? they do look the same but the part numbers are different.

Please correct if I'm wrong, but the Santanas use the LT85 box (which is their design and used in late 80's Land Rovers) and a part-time 4wd version of the LT230 transfer case. I'd doubt if there was much parts interchange with the Series gearboxes.
