Ignition equipment brands...
Hi,
My 1990 RRC V8 (174 500 KMS) has been missing occasionally, mostly under acceleration. I've done the leads and plugs using Bosch gear.
Is it fine to us Bosch rotors and dizzy caps or should I use the genuine Lucas gear?
Cheers.

I would/do use Lucas.
The rotor Lucas for sure as I have seen Bosch fail.
I also use Magnacore leads and have had my current set for 10 years without a miss.

It's recommended that you use genuine Lucas rotors and caps. wherever possible. You can buy them off Ebay from Tornado Systems. They cost more but last much longer than some of the aftermarket types - there's lots of horror stories around about these failing in no time.
For leads I find Bosch black leads bought singularly from Supercheap to be fine and cost very little. I even use them in my racing Mini which regularly pulls 8,000 rpm and which also uses a Lucas dissy. Magnecore are very good but very pricey, as are a lot of the big name aftermarket brands (Accel, Mallory, Eagle, Moroso, etc) and they are simply not needed on a low compression, low revving Land Rover.
Avoid fancy overpriced plugs - NGKBP5ES work just fine gapped at 030in.
