    What, new Defender ???

Hi all, Has anyone had anything to do with the new Defender. Powered by the Ford Transit diesel engine (Iv'e heard a lot of bad about these engines) though your most likely to only hear the bad guff. Owned by TATA.
The only usual sales bla bla from the Land Rover salesman.
Does anybody own one ,Are the changes many - for better or worse ????

As in the new Defender that's been out since 2007?

I think there might be one or two owners on here.
They're usually very quiet though so they might not show themselves straight away.

Do a search on PUMA and DEFENDER and you'll find one or two threads.

I've just got back from a beach holiday in my 2007 110 and it didn't miss a beat. The 6 speed gearbox is excellent and you won't believe how good the 2.4 engine is until you have driven one (I have a 300TDi, a TD5 and a TD6 (RR) to compare it to BTW...)

So that's what I drove around Australia! No wonder people kept asking me how I'd managed to keep an old car in such good nick.

Yes, there are a few of us who own these Defenders and there are also a few who have had problems and a lot who have not. As mentioned already check out the thread in the link given above.

My Puma is now six months old and I'm delighted with it.
No problems whatever, and I feel 20 years younger.

I've driven dm_td5's and I now want one.

By the way Derek you need to change your user name. How about dm_td4 seeing you own two of them

    Dave.
