It's a wast of time and fuel to play with the pump
with out more air (turbo and/or intercooler)
you will only get black smoke (unburnt fuel)

hi guys...
i just got my discovery 300tdi, what a great car... love driving it. Anyway i want to get more power out of my discovery and just wondering if any one in Melbourne would like to meet up with me to chat about the car and give me a helping hand to tweak my injector pump? i had read pretty of posts about it but still kinda scare to do it on my own. Any infos on tweaking the injector pump will be helpful.
thank you
dan

There is a very detailed set of instructions posted on here somewhere, written by Leo109, from Thermoguard Instruments, who do EGT gauges.
You can tweak the pump without just adding excessive fuel and black smoke, however a very good understanding of what you are doing is vital, its not just something to play around with and hope for the best - so use your friend, the search button, to find out all you can first.
If you do it yourself, get an EGT gauge first (at minimum) or you are taking massive risks.
There are plenty of properly equipped dyno tuning places that can do it for you, with all the necessary equipment and expertise to be doing it safely. You don't want to melt your engine.

NAH, aint that hard , 50 piece in the boost capsule and wind the waste gate up to 15 PSi , took mine from 83 to 95 KW , whoopee !!!
Wow 95 kw! Is that at the wheels. Miracle!
I had mine done here by TRS. They had to do new intercooler and silicone hoses and than tweak pump.
I went to a diesel tuner as well to check EGT's and they were right on at 550 degree.
It goes much better, fuel up to 11L/100. so very little increase in consumption but I can really notice the way it spools up earlier and gets up hills better even with trailer and air on.
On long trips I now tow in 5th(I know) and sits on 110 even up hills and with full load even full roof racks.
Get it done properly though, EGt's too high and bang goes the donk.
Cost was around $1000 all up but worth it. KW's I am not sure but TRS reckon around 68kw at the wheels.
I fitted D/gas and wound the diesel off half a turn and I have 78hp at the wheels.I did do the tune up but it just made smoke. Pat
The 300tdi is already wastegated at 15psi , leave the boost where it is , you won't make extra ponnies with increasing boost ,
there are 3 adjustments on the Boost Compensator
Stop screw = increased the off idle
eccentric cone adjustment
star wheel adjustment
there is an excellent set of instructions somehere here prepared by one of the forum members. but an EGT is a good idea to fit prior to doing the Mod.
I'll try and search for it...
Edit: Mr Pedro the Swift has done well..
here is the Instructions..

thank you for reply, anyone know a place in melbounre that put new intercooler and silicone hoses and than tweak pump? and at what price. thank you
Ah yes , it was the far superior 200TDI engine that I tweaked , Could never understand why they quote the 300 and 200 at 84 kw when the 200 allways outpulls the the 300 ,and lasts twice as long , perhaps with a little more clatter .Ithink its the dreadful exhaust and inlet tract differences . Every 200/300 Ive measured boost on went 11 PSI , not even close to 15 PSI
