Which ECU setup do I Have ?

Which ECU setup do I Have ? Its a 1988 Hi-line manual , Now Im 1500 Ks away from it I cant look under the seat !!! Has the Flapper valve . Would the ECU be a 13CU or 14CU or a 14CUX ? next silly question , what do you use to read the fault codes ? your ears ? Jump something to something ? a OBD1 or 2 reader LOL ?

It should be the 4CU unit. There isn't fault reader capability on the 'flapper' system, it's all probe work on the components.

You can do all the other things you mentioned with the hotwire ( 14 CUX system - D1 V8 fault reader or connection )

And you can swap entire systems if you happen to find a later model wreck.

I'm reasonably sure OBD plugs started in model year 95.

Ill be junking the rover/lucas junk and relacing it with a 6 litre Holden engine anyway but I have to Drive it up here into the Pilbara from Perth first .

I found the manual-on-cd in the shop section the easiest way to do that.
Also, google 4cu ecu and a fair amount of stuff is available.
