Looking at my stock book, 56D engines were fitted to D2s from 2001.
That would make it a 4.0 high comp.
Hi people
Have been trying to identify a Rover type V8 engine with a 56D number prefix.
It does not appear on the UK V8 forum http://www.v8forum.co.uk/engineno2.htm but they don't seem to have a lot of info on export market engines.
We were thinking it may be a 4.6 Hi-Compression out of a P38a but can not be sure.
Of interest would be the vehicle it came from and engine specs (compression, cam profile etc).
Cheers
Diana
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I think the wreck I just bought has the 56D 4 litre V8.
2011 Discovery 4 TDV6
2009 DRZ400E Suzuki
1956 & 1961 P4 Rover (project)
1976 SS Torana (project - all cash donations or parts accepted)
2003 WK Holden Statesman
Departed
2000 Defender Extreme: Shrek (but only to son)
84 RR (Gone) 97 Tdi Disco (Gone)
98 Ducati 900SS Gone & Missed
Facta Non Verba
Thanks Guys
My friend and owner of the engine will be a little upset about the 56D engine capacity, but given that he is going to fit it to an SD1 Rover car it will make the change not require an engineers certificate.
