Finally i have ordered a EGT Gauge from Aubeirns from the states and hoping will be here end of next week. i was reading some where on here from a previous thread that around the 720 degree mark (For a small time period) is the safe zone to put your temp alarm at is that right or does that vary with motors, weather and things like that???
That is about right for a diesel engine if the probe is pre-turbo. (Edit I would set the alarm lower)
I don't like to see over 650C very often, and will only occasionally let it climb to 700+ as long as it will be a very short time and not regularly.
Petrol engines or post-turbo both change the recommendations.
