One of mine took part of the hit when I wrote off my D1. They're now on the Fender and still going strong

I have lightforce HID's on my D1 ARB bar ! all I had to do was drill two more holes further forward !
Lightforce are Polycarbonate and as close as you will get to un-breakable ! it is possible but your bar will most likely bend before your lights will break ! Thats why its not as much of a worry with them sticking out compared to a glass light !!

Well they actually don't stick out past the bar, they sit just behind the rubber bumpers, otherwise in NSW they would be illegal

Well, they actually do and actually are illegal, here in SA anyway. I was given a warning and have changed back to the Narva's that came with the cars when I bought it.
They are very flat and sit back and are of course smaller also.
The Coppa, a female really took to my little girl in the back and my dog TURBO sitting behind the cargo barrier.
The fine is $174 normally I believe.
Light force I have no doubt make the worlds best spotlights I have ever used.
On my mates Patrol, when he was pulling some guy out of a bog, they broke the rope and it whipped back and of course straight onto his lights, he straightened them out and carried on, they are rock solid.
I love mine, just don't want to pay any more fines.

    Actually the cop was wrong!
We had THE head of traffic And the tech bloke from Regency park come to our club. In a non defect manner they went over a few vehicles pointing out 'naughty' mods.

I pointed to my lights, the official line is:
no sharp protrusions, lights with rounded edges are acceptable as long as they don't protrude beyond the furthest forward line of the vehicle.

Nothing ****s me more than snotty cops and their own, misinformed interpretation of our laws.

Hmm, this particular cop was not really snotty, she was a bit picky, pulled me up for an oil leak too but it was minor and its fixed now.

Biggest problem is probably the interpretation of the law and the facts.

Guess I will put my lights back on again and get some written facts and put in glove box.
That could get them really aroused though and go for more, not that there is much but if they really wanted to, I guess anyone can find something.

Last year I was pulled over for too dark a window tint, as of January 1st, they changed that law too and you can go darker now. As to how dark I am not sure but its just so confusing.
No wonder they are raking in the fines.
