Hi, I have been struggling with a slight problem since the other night - I was driving home after a LONG day in the driving rain and went through a crossing with a little too much speed, after a few hundred more metres the lights cut out. Upon further inspection I found that my parkers were still working, as were my taillights and brake lights - but the low beam was not working at all and I could only pull on high beam temporarily (lucky for me there was a Discovery driver who I could follow home). The dash lights work with the parkers on but when I push further forward to activate the headlamps I lose all lights.
The next day I checked all of the fuses in the box in front of the gear changer, then in the engine bay (one of the large blade fuses was blow and replaced which had no effect on the headlights). I am a at a bit of a miss as to what to check next, I am not at all mechanical and have had the old man have a look at it (ex-REAME, Telstra and Ergon) and he seems to have narrowed it down to a relay that is apparently (according to the RAVE software that I have) attached to the facia - we had a poke around yesterday and didn’t find anything worth reporting.
The vehicle is a 1995 300Tdi 110 Cab Chassis (drop-side steel tray) and the designation of the part that my father found on the circuit diagrams is (from memory) C048 - any help in either locating this relay or diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated as I would like to be able to drive at night again.
Thanks in advance,
Brad
