    Its dead i think

So i found out why my discovery WAS overheating after it died

Apparently the thermostat housing has a metal ring that goes in between the housing and the thermostat witch holds the thermostat in the manifold when its bolted together if its not there it just rattles around

So i found out when the truck picked me up off the side of the road this afternoon you might of heard me swearing in Melbourne and the driver was a Discovery owner i explained what had happened with the over heating prior to cooking itself to death and he new straight away he just squeezed the radiator hose and jingle jingle it went

I didnt even think of it on the way to work i only noticed after it started pinging and farting and now it runs on one cylinder or close blows a little blue smoke and a little black it leaks from the head gasket and rattles like a toy

So now i need a reco motor ASAP im in Corowa near Albury i dont mind paying frieght from anywhere

If you know a good cheap engine supplier please email me or post or pm

    While im at it

    While im at it

What is the story with 3.9 4.0 4.6 engines

Is it possible to just use a 4.6 long motor with my efi gear
    Same question for the others

I have been reading around and it is a little confusing some people say its the same block with different heads others say the block is bigger

I have a late model 4L block (crossbolted mains) and (10 bolt) heads with the 3.5L timing cover, dissy, coil and the full 3.5 EFI system, goes like a blur, Regards Frank.

93 models had two V8s - the later 3.5s or the early 3.9s - which is it?

93 should be 3.9. The 3.5 was long gone by then.....

    Cheers

Getvthe VIN number and check it with a dealer. They will be able to give you the original engine number. Rego papers should also have this info too.
I have a list of engine codes, just not handy at the moment.
