Leaking TD5 Fuel Tank

You do not have to remove the tank to remove the fuel pipes, but it can help to loosen the tank retaining bolts to lower the tank on its retaining straps. Do you not have to drain the tank or remove the pump, though it might help to make the tank as empty as possible to reduce the weight hanging above you as you loosen the tank retaining straps!

I would try to find the chafe in the offending pipe (mine was the green coded one) and see if you can get a hydraulic fitting to repair the pipe at that location. You can see the repair that worked for me in the second photo in post #6 of the thread link I attached previously.

Whatever you do, sleeve the pipe in some rubber hose or similar so that it does not chafe through again!

Thanks CJC your help is much appreciated. I will follow those suggestions. By the sound of things I have had a good run as mine is a 2002 model and no serious problems other than the dreaded 3 Amigos [now 5] which I have had for 3 years. LR Dealership stated that I needed to replace the ECU and Modulator Solenoid Pack etc. I didn't have a lazy $6000 so I just put up with the lights. I have done thousands of k's totally remote in my detecting thirst for gold . This is still the best vehicle ever owned since the 60's.
