A bit of new sealant solved the issue. Clutch is all good now.

that plug IS leaking on mine.....ever since i did the exhuast manifold.....
and to remove it to seal it......i need to take the manifold off again......

its leaking and running down and pooling on the side of the block......but i cant see it getting anywhere near the box......

and i have already removed the wading plug in the bottom of the bellhousing and all seemed dry.......so i have sort of eliminated a wet clutch.....
and am thinking more flywheel......but until i get to pull it all apart.....i wont know for sure......

100 000 on my defer and the DM flywheel failed. The centre bearing had worn the flywheel half it mounts in to - about 3mm- and vibrated badly above 2500 rpm, it felt like a gearbox bearing failure. I fitted a solid flywheel and so far i am very happy with it. I should have weighed the new flywheel because there is a big difference in torque from idle compared to the DM flywheel. Only problem now is Rover sounds like a Patrol at idle - heaps of rattles.

I have always used a 250 kg chain block hanging from a length of rhs across the seat mount area to remove and replace gearbox/transfercases. Easy one man job and in and out in a day.

iv got a clutch coming for mine at the moment, my problem is wen i release the clutch just after the bitpoint it feels like it kicks the pedal out and make a spigot bush sorta sound and engages realy fast, its started doing the same going down the gears as the engine catches up to the gear speed,?? im realy hoping the DMF hasn't failed to,,

mine used to judder on take off aswell, but replaced the engine mounts and all ok after that, now iv got this noise now and realy werd pedal kick back

that sounds more like the clutch.......mine was doing a bit of that as well.....then i checked the clutch fluid......and it was empty.......

so i filled it up and flushed it out......bled the clutch....and that seemed to sort out the clutch kicking......

but the shudder keeps coming and going........got me knackered......

i think i will check my engine mounts tomorrow......but i would have expected one big kick as the engine drops back into place.....
    not shudder from engine mounts......
