I suspect Defender will be the way to go.
I have fitted a Series 3/Stage One firewall and body to a Range Rover Classic chassis and am about to start to work on the power steering connection.
And I need HELP?
Which Land Rover Steering Column will best marry my Series firewall and RRC power steering box?
The options I am considering are:
(1) Range Rover 1992 - have yet to collect this and see how it is fitted
(2) Discovery Series 1 - I presume this will be much the same as the Rangie 1992 model.
(3) Defender (not sure what year model - presume and early Defender from early 90's)
Any and all comments and suggestions welcome.

I suspoect so Big Jonbut so overseas posts I have read suggest that Range Rover and DIsco will fit as well - just need to make a retaining/mounting bracket.
Has anyone done this before - want effective and cheap solution - hence going the RRC way if can.
WIll remove old one tomorrow and try to get a RRC one before end of the week.

I've done this.
Defender column is the one that you want. You'll have to drill a hole or 2 in the firewall at the bottom of the column to make it fit. There was also a tab at the top near the top mount that fell prey to the angle grinder in my case. Not that I did the conversion to a SeriesII, but I doubt there is much difference.
