				For Mr INWC - the bearing is a balls-in-a-race one piece bearing. And, as Mr Macman points out, if the seals are fine, then the bearings are probably still serviceable. First step is to see if there is a lot of movement in the output flanges ( you can try the front one first). There will be some movement. If there is a lot of movement, undo the propshaft and check that that nut on the output flange is torqued up correctly (They can come loose ). If there is a fair amount of play in the flange after that - then a new set of bearings is probably a good idea.
And a whining noise, now that I think about it, is more probably a manual gearbox sort of noise - think about a better (not heavier) lubricant
