Personally I wouldn't leave it, especially as it is a really easy fix.
Hi,
Going camping this weekend and had a strange noise on suspension movement tonight and tracked it down to this:
DSCF5391-1.jpg
The lower suspension bush is shagged.
Will it survive a camping weekend and if it fails completely (although i think it has already) what damage if any will it do? Or will it be the *tink* noise i keep hearing on suspension movement and that is it?
The camping weekend is Blue Rag and Mayford valley so therefore really rocky and bumpy.
What to do????
I will try and get it sorted in between working but I just want to know what the consequences of leaving it would be???
****** timing i tell you what!. Any other week.
Thanks muchly!

cheers
About a $2 at Bursons, and 15mins to replace!
If you can't get out during the day I'll get you a couple today and you could swing by and grab them tonight and fix it then!
Fraser
Thanks for the offer Fraser.
I'm just ringing a few local places to see if I can get it fit in. But if I can't I might have to take you up on your offer if you can spare the time.
How easy is it? Is it just a matter of taking that bolt off? I live in an apartment and don't have a lot of space to work on it so to speak.
thanks
Matt
Yup, just hold the shaft, undo the nut, lift shocker, remove old rubber, replace with new rubber, drop shocker, fit new bottom rubber, fit washer, tighten nut.
Easy!
If you are ringing places, make sure you tell them lower shocker bush, not suspension bush!
honestly in a workshop on a hoist, 10 mins tops!
Give me a ring on 0417-102-120 after 9:30 if you like!
Good stuff!
Yes I'm going down the 'Prom, started doing all the wheel bearings this week, then found buggered rear discs and pads - Pad's should arrive today (I hope) as we want to leave tomorrow morning! but new bearings are fitted as are two new rear discs. (the price on the discs surprised me, only $68 each!!
Have a good weekend away!
Jeez Mate, surely you could fix it yourself, buy 1/2 dozen shock rubbers (so you will have spares), all you need is a 19MM (3/4") open end ring spanner a set of Multi grips and 15 minutes of work. If this happened in the bush you would have to fix it yourself, so get in some practise while you can, Regards Frank.
