    Nice catch.
I know you can't (or probably - rightly so - don't wish to) reveal the locality where you caught him but may I ask, was it lake or river and was there much fight in him?

Caught her in Eildon on 6 pound line, I prefer to fish the real light gear, suprisingly she didnt fight until she saw the boat, then she got very upset and went for a run

The lighter the gear the better you have to be prepared,,
better knots, better drag settings, better patience

I am intrigued by the mixture of metric and imperial measurements.

Did you describe it as 5 lb instead of 2.27 kg because it sounds heavier or is the weight of fish, like people's height and the weight of newborn babies something that continues to be imperial long after the change to metric measures.?

BTW Well done! That is a pretty impressive Brown Trout.

5lb sounds heaps better than 2.5kg,,,

mind you,, a 2.25kg trout is no picnic to drag in,,,
