So far the motor has ~5 hrs and I have gone through ~15 L of premium unleaded.
Numbers would be good once you have run her in. I think the f70 will be my next power plant.
You got a prety keen deal if they put in the CANBUS dig gauges for the price you mentioned a few months ago?
I have an interesting possible 4 link design for the suspension for her new trailer if you are interested. Will keep airspring and dampers well away from salt, but still allow full travel and ability to drop height for beach launch? Have sketched it whilst on leave but drawing it digitally is gonna be tricky on android!

Time for the fit out...
Bought some Everdure to treat the plywood deck. Also bought a Johnson 1600GPH Bilge pump and fittings.
Boatboard is unavailable in WA (they told me it is an "east coast thing"), but I got a good price on black HDPE. I also got a reasonable price on quality flotation foam sheets. The plan is to add extra flotation to the gunwales, then sheet over it with HDPE, which, combined with marine sikaflex and scuppers, will give me a semi-sealed, self draining deck...
Here are the guages that need to be installed:

The other is: Tach/trim-tilt/temp/oil
I also bought the largest/tallest oil-water separator that I could find in stock.

We found scuppers don't work that well in small boats, ended up sealing them up. The floor is not high enough above the water to keep the water from coming in through the opened scuppers when your bobbing around.
Hmm - OK - thanks. There seem to be a lot of boats these days made with sealed, delf draining decks. Many f these just have a big hole around the motor - i.e. don't even have scuppers.Quote:

Surely if the scuppers are closed not too much water would enter,enough for the bilge pump to cope with.If you do get swamped sureley its a matter of powering away and opening them to drain the deck,asuming you are still mobile???
Im NEW to this boat business.Done a fair bit of decky work,only 3 trips as a boat owner/skipper.
Ben,my Bro is making me a triangle shaped cupboard to sit below the deck in front of the passengers chair,will be able to fit a VHF and Jukebox into it,plus mount the Epirb and fire extinguisher to it.It will have a door on it so I can keep flares in there.

I wear boots. In winter it is too cold not to and with hooks, sharp things and things that bite even in summer it is a good idea. I tend to cover up if I am going to be out in the sun all day and that includes my feet otherwise I'll turn red like a lobster.Quote:

When we had the scuppers let the water in was when you are sitting on a drift with lines over the side and the back end of the boat is sitting lower in the water. The floor on small boats is not that far above the water line to allow an open scupper/self draining deck to work well. We had the spring loaded door type. Opinions differ as evident in this as well as other discussions on boat forums . If you do have a lot of water in the boat like Andy said if you can get the boat going that will raise the boat or at least steady it so the it creates a depression behind the boat for water to go out the bungs or scuppers if you do have them. Otherwise it is a case of letting the pumps take care of it or use bailing buckets.
Our scuppers are still there, they are just closed over and have sealant on the rubber seal. For most of the time having a well allows the water to concentrate in one spot for the bilge pump to pick it up and keeps the deck free of slop.
