Progress has been annoyingly slow, mainly due to work and work travel, but also because I have been adding extra welds to the hull where I thought they were lacking.

Don't get me wrong, I think Blue-fin hulls are extremely well built and great value, however they do cut a few corners here and there - but only on the fittings/extras - not the main structural components.

    Cutout for Anchor Well:

Flotation foam etc.... Only ~0.55 m3 standard. Seems a bit low! Need to do some buoyancy calcs... Extra ribs/stringers welded in - to support floor and allow me to make it semi-sealed.

0.3 m3 of Microlen foam for the Gunwales.

Need to make sure the centre of Buoyancy is higher than the centre of gravity! (I prefer to sit inside a swamped boat rather than on top...)

    63L underfloor fuel tank:

Floor ply with a generous coat of Everdure:

My new welder that has been doing all the work - very nice to use!

Some progress has been made - will post some pics soon.

Got the boat back together enough to do a few runs up/down the river with friends while they were over visiting. Very impressed with the handling and cornering.

Also calculated that the standard foam is only Just enough to keep the hull+motor afloat (in freshwater) - no passengers or gear

Also bought an Air riveter! Which will make short work of most of the fitting out hopefully!

Thanks guys - yes this thread needs an update!!!

Will dig out some pics soon... I have the boat back in the shed to finish the fit-out...

Bremer was good - 2nd time we have taken the boat down there. It was a bit rough to go too far offshore. Caught a few nice whiting and cod. (and Abalone diving).
