    Garmin 300c

Picked one of these little color finders up last week and fitted it to the boat. Havent had a chance to use it yet but from all reports it seems pretty good for the 220 dollar price tag. I'm heading out next Wednesday so I'll post up a report on it. Has anyone got one and if so perhaps you can give some tips or thoughts on it?

I had a B&W one for years and it never gave me a bit of trouble. I would be interested to hear how it goes

Used it last week all day and the difference between this unit and the older B&W Lowrance eagle I had was amazing. I could see fish sitting in the thermocline at 50 feet. (I didnt take my downrigger which I was unhappy about as I couldnt get down that deep) I also had water temp for the 1st time which was handy. The resolution of the trees and bushes around the edges of the lake was much better than the block chunk graphics i'd been previously used too. Background illumination on the screen was very good during the day, It also gives me battery voltage on my crank battery All in all really happy with the results for a 200+ dollar sounder.
