A question,the 1kw transducer is expensive,will it work OK in shallow waters,ie 30 to 60m that I have found in Albany sofar.They do have deeper waters down there,ie continental shelf,just havent ventured out that far YET.

Yes it will work well in shallow water as well, I had a m260 in my betty with a fcv 585 and read from 1 m down to about 360 fathoms. I could pick up individual marlin in bait schools down to about 100m.

Sounds a great bit of kit. Looking at the HDS units last week.

Why a TM260 over a TM270W? The depth might be a little less but the wide beam looks positive. NZ chatter largely on the transducers at 1Kw transducers - The Fishing Website Forums - Page 1
